Chris Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow Show Divorce Isn't Always Acrimonious

Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow famously "consciously uncoupled" in March, but that doesn't mean that the months since have been filled with acrimony and stress.

In a recent interview with MYFM Radio in Los Angeles, Martin, the lead singer of the mega-popular band Coldplay, said he and Paltrow remain "very close."

Martin put rumors of reunification to rest by saying he and the Oscar-winning actress are "not together," but he went on to say that there is "a lot of love" between the couple and that they are still in contact with one another.

(Martin and Paltrow are working their way through the formalities of their divorce. They have two children, a daughter named Apple and a son named Moses.)

We took note of this story because as lawyers, we work with many couples who are worried that ending their marriage will lead to a Cold War of sorts between each other. While it's true that divorce can be an emotional time, it certainly doesn't have to be bitter, angry or drawn-out.

If you have decided that the best thing for your marriage may be to end it, please know that can be done in a calm, respectful way and that respect and consideration for your partner can be preserved, or even strengthened.

If you are in need of a family law attorney who serves clients from around the Baton Rouge area, please feel free to contact our office.
